Privacy Policy

HOME (and its mobile app, H.O.M.E) helps you run your household: your properties, vehicles, devices, subscriptions, meters, maintenance and documents. This policy explains what we store, why, and what you can do about it.

Last updated: 2026-10-06

01Who is responsible

The service is operated by Viktor Markus under the VityaSoft name, reachable at support@vityasoft.com. This policy covers the hosted service at home.vityasoft.com and the H.O.M.E mobile apps that connect to it.

If you run HOME on your own server, you are the operator of that instance and this policy does not apply to it — your data never reaches us.

02What we store

We only store what the product needs to work:

  • Account data — your email address, display name, language and currency preference, and a salted hash of your password. If you sign in with Google we store the email address and name Google returns; we never receive your Google password. To show and secure your active sign-ins, we also store the client platform and, when the operating system supplies it, the device name.
  • Sign-up origin — which sign-up button on our website you used and, if the link you arrived with carried one, its campaign tag (for example "newsletter"). It is stored once with your account and read only as aggregate counts, to learn which parts of the website work; it is not linked to any other site or ad network.
  • Household data — everything you enter into the app: homes and their members, assets (including a property's address and the coordinates derived from it), asset values, meters and readings, maintenance plans and log entries, expenses and recurring costs, reminders, shopping lists, tags and notes.
  • Attachments — files you upload (photos, invoices, warranties, manuals). Images and PDFs are passed through our own OCR component so their text becomes searchable; the extracted text is stored alongside the file.
  • Operational data — server logs containing the request path, timestamp and IP address, kept for a short period so we can diagnose faults and abuse.

03What we do not do

  • No advertising, and no data is ever sold or rented.
  • No analytics, tracking or profiling SDKs are embedded in the web app or the mobile apps.
  • No third-party ad or attribution identifiers are collected.
  • Your household data is never used to train machine-learning models.

04Why we may use your data

  • To provide the service — storing and showing the data you entered, under a contract with you.
  • To keep the service secure and working — authentication, fault diagnosis, abuse prevention, based on our legitimate interest.
  • To contact you about the service — for example a security notice, or a reply to a support request you sent us.

05Location and weather

HOME never reads your device's GPS. Weather features work from an address you type in yourself: the address is resolved to coordinates using OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service, and the forecast for those coordinates is fetched from Open-Meteo. Both requests originate from our server, not from your device.

06Mobile app permissions

  • Photo library — requested only when you choose to attach a photo to an asset, meter reading or document. We access the single item you pick; the app never browses your library on its own.
  • Notifications — optional, and only for local reminders scheduled on your own device from your reminder data. The server never sends push notifications.

07Who else can see your data

Other members of a home you belong to can see that home's data, with the capabilities the home owner granted them. Beyond that, your data is shared only with the technical providers the service runs on:

  • Our hosting provider, which runs the servers, the database and the object storage holding your attachments (in the European Union).
  • OpenStreetMap Nominatim and Open-Meteo, which receive only an address or a pair of coordinates for the weather features — never your account or household data.
  • Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.
  • An AI assistant of your choosing (for example ChatGPT or Claude), only if you explicitly connect it through the optional MCP integration and approve the access. Disconnecting it stops that access.

08How long we keep it

Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, the account, its homes and all of their contents — including uploaded files — are permanently deleted. Server logs are rotated within days. Backups are retained for a short rolling window and then overwritten.

09Your rights

You can exercise most of your rights directly in the app, without asking us:

  • Access and portability — Settings → Export lets you download your data as CSV, and Backup produces a complete machine-readable archive.
  • Rectification — every record you created can be edited in place.
  • Erasure — Settings → Account → Delete account removes your account and all of its data immediately.
  • You may also contact us at support@vityasoft.com for any of the above, and you have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

10Security

Traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes. Every request is scoped to the home you are a member of, and write actions additionally check the capabilities granted to you. No system is perfect, so please report anything suspicious to support@vityasoft.com.

11Children

HOME is a household-management tool intended for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

12Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change affects you, notify you in the app or by email.
